Español: Edith Stein, llamada Santa Teresa Benedicta de la Cruz O.C.D. (Breslavia, Alemania (hoy Polonia) 12 de octubre de 1891 - Auschwitz, 9 de agosto de 1942), filósofa, mística, religiosa carmelita, mártir y santa alemana de origen judío. Es copatrona de Europa.

Català: Retrat d'Edith Stein (12 d'octubre de 1891 - Camp d'extermini d'Auschwitz, 9 d'agost de 1942)va ser una filòsofa alemanya d'origen jueu, convertida del judaisme al catolicisme i religiosa de l'Orde dels Carmelites Descalços. Va ser detinguda pels nazis i enviada al camp d'extermini d'Auschwitz, on va morir. En 1998 Joan Pau II va proclamar-la santa i l'any següent va ser declarada co-patrona d'Europa.

Español: Portrait of Edith Stein (October 12, 1891 – died: August 9, 1942), was a German Roman Catholic philosopher and nun, regarded as a martyr and saint of the Roman Catholic Church. Born into an observant Jewish family she was atheist by her teenage years; moved by the war tragedies, in 1915 she took lessons to become nursing assistant, and worked in an hospital for outbreak prevention; Edith was baptized on January 1, 1922 into the Roman Catholic Church.
