Wikipedia Ambassador Program[edit]

Do you think you could unmark this page for translation? Thanks, --TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 23:32, 3 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TeleComNasSprVen! Sure thing. Do you want me to mark this page instead? --WikiBronze [T] 00:03, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
this pageYesY Done. Shall I also unmark this and this? --WikiBronze [T] 00:09, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I think you can unmark the redirect page for translation but I would be hesitant about removing the template. You might want to ask Rage Soss, who manages this website, for that. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 01:39, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. Alright, I will ask Rage Soss about the template. --WikiBronze [T] 04:42, 4 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Eğitim/Ülkeler[edit]

Eğitim/Ülkeler sayfasındaki bağlantılarda sorun çıkıyor. Daha önce ilgili şablonda gerekli düzenlemeyi yapmıştım, sorun düzelmişti. Rica etsem ilgilenir misiniz? McAang (talk) 15:48, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

YesY Done Haber verdiğiniz iyi oldu :) Sayfayı çeviriye hazırlarken yanlış etiketlemişim. Düzelttim. --WikiBronze [T] 18:33, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Template translation issue[edit]

Hello Base. Do you know what is the proper way to translate this template so the translations will appear on the translated pages? We have finished the translation in Turkish Language but for some reason it still appears as English in the Turkish version. Thanks in advance. --WikiBronze [T] 23:01, 22 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, WikiBronze. I assume that all was solved till now? Looks like working ok to me. Sorry for the delay with responding. --Base (talk) 22:35, 23 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it isn't solved. See, we have been trying to fix this issue with Galaksidekiotostopcu and he came up with a temporary solution but as you see here it still doesn't appear properly on every page. Any thoughts? --WikiBronze [T] 17:55, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Is it better now? --Base (talk) 19:05, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
A lot better :) Thanks Base! Much appreciate it. I might keep bothering you for help throughout the translation phase of this project. Hope you won't mind? --WikiBronze [T] 11:03, 26 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Links to Wikipedia pages[edit]

Hello Base. Do you know of a way to modify the Wikipedia links that are inside the translatable texts so that they will lead to the same language version of the wikipedi page with the language version of the translated page? For example, when I click on "username policy" link inside the text here, I want to reach to this page. Is it possible?
PS: Special/MyLanguage/ didn't work. --WikiBronze [T] 16:48, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, WikiBronze. Nope, unfortunately I don't know a way better than just to leave a link to WP not wrapped with tvar so that a translator can change its target as needed. Neither Meta nor this wiki are not even connected to Wikidata so any "smart" way of doing it I may fancy is not possible (well at least without doing something as extreme as developing a tool labs project for this single purpose). Anyway sometimes proper page is not connected to English one via Wikidata but is for example a section on a wider scope page in smaller wiki so letting a translator decide is not so bad a choice. P.S. I have edited the page and also changed the list tagging as per mw:Special:MyLanguage/Help:Extension:Translate/Page translation administration. P.P.S. I am also active on Meta so you can contact me on my talk page there if it's about Meta, though I don't mind if it's more comfortable for you to do it here :) --Base (talk) 18:39, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that I was messaging you on Outreach about something that is in Meta, right after I left the message. :) Next time I'll do it on Meta. And you are right about not wrapping it with tvar, that is certainly one way to do it. Also thanks for correcting the list tagging. By the way, I have encountered another issue since my last message; I couldn't find a better way (or I am just too tired to see it) to tag this page with all the <code><nowiki>'s inside the text which makes the translation texts in the extension look quite messy. Would be most grateful if you could take a look at it, as well. Thank you. --WikiBronze [T] 21:48, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problems about the place :) As to the tagging of those code examples I'm afraid I can't think of a better solution :( Some fancy template then called as {{a cool name|$1|bold}} as it would look to translator where in <tvar|1> will be some argument to a switch function in that template and then it will '''imitate''' [[wiki]] {{markup}} using xml-stuff like &#91;&#91;{{{2|}}}&#93;&#93; (because probably nowiki will not allow to work normally, though don't know I don't think I ever tried wrapping template parameters with nowiki) can be created (perhaps somebody has already created something like this, but I know about it not) but I am not sure whether it is worth it. And anyway a qqq-message should probably be created in such case for the units so that translators will know that they are allowed to translate the template's parameter. I don't know what is better leaving it as is or using the way that visited my head described so I'm leaving it up to you to decide :) --Base (talk) 01:48, 5 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is best to leave it the way it is for now. Although it looks messy, at least it is functional. :) I will let Galaksidekiotostopcu to take a look at it however, for he might come up with an unusual solution like he usually do. Thanks again for your help, Base. :) --WikiBronze [T] 14:41, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
