Citing your sources

Any editor can remove unreferenced material, and unsubstantiated articles may end up getting deleted. When students add information to an article, they will want to include their references. Inline citations are the best. They allow other editors and readers to verify the information.

As they do with other research projects, your professor will want to discuss with his or her students where to find an acceptable, trustworthy and authoritative source.

The following video shows the basics of how to create a footnote on Wikipedia in order to cite appropriate sources.
