Summary: Applications to the first edition of the Wikimedia & Education Greenhouse are now closed. We have received 15 team applications and over 100 individual applications that showcase the diversity and expansion of our movement.

Last May 12 marked the end of the application period for the Wikimedia & Education Greenhouse. We have received

from countries so diverse as Bangladesh, Ghana, Benin, India, Brazil, and others. Project ideas include formal and informal education initiatives that engage a variety of audiences, and that promote the participation of smaller language communities. We want to express our appreciation and gratitude to everyone who submitted an application! We are really excited to see the great project ideas you have brought forward and we value the time and effort you have put into your applications. We have closed the individual applications with over 100 registered participants from all over the globe. Finally, we have a great group of excited and committed volunteer collaborators from the education movement joining us in different supporting capacities!

So what comes next? During the week of May 13-19 teams have the opportunity to edit and improve their applications before the assessment and selection process starts on May 20. Members of the education community were encouraged to engage with and support the applicant teams providing feedback to their applications, asking questions, and/or offering an endorsement! The selected team that will participate in this first edition of the W&E Greenhouse will be announced through our communication channels on June 12. Additionally, the individuals that registered for the online course will receive a confirmation email during the first half of June. The online course will start on July 1.

We look forward to sharing the next stages of this adventure with you!
