Español: Edith Stein, llamada Santa Teresa Benedicta de la Cruz O.C.D. (Breslavia, Alemania —hoy Polonia— 12 de octubre de 1891 - Auschwitz, 9 de agosto de 1942), filósofa, mística, religiosa carmelita, mártir y santa alemana de origen judío. Es copatrona de Europa.

Va ser detinguda pels nazis i enviada al camp d'extermini d'Auschwitz, on va morir. En 1998 Joan Pau II va proclamar-la santa i l'any següent va ser declarada co-patrona d'Europa.
