Summary

Description
English: Thermally-guided transgenic silkmoths can precisely approach a thermal source. To examine whether thermogenetic activation of sex pheromone receptor cells is sufficient to induce female searching behavior, wild-type males (control: left) and transgenic males (BmOR1>dTrpA1: right) were stimulated with a carbon heater. Upon turning on the heater, transgenic moths exhibited courtship behavior and approached the heater.
