English: The famous scene taken from Frank Capra's US propaganda movie "Divide and Conquer" ("Why We Fight #3", @54:50) depicting the departure of the remaining French troops after their defeat at the 1940 Battle of France (World War II). The audio commentary says the French weep as the Tricolore flag leaves metropolitan France from the Toulon harbour (southern France's 1940-42 unoccupied area).

Français : La fameuse scène extraite du film américain de propagande par Frank Capra "Divide and Conquer" ("Why We Fight #3", @54:50) décrivant le départ du reliquat des troupes françaises après leur défaite à la bataille de France en 1940 (Seconde guerre mondiale). Le commentaire audio déclare que les Français pleurent le drapeau Tricolore qui quitte la France métropolitaine depuis le port de Toulon (zone libre au sud de la France en 1940-42).

English: There is a controversy around this scene since a famous still taken at 54:50 (used in Call of Duty 3) changed the historical context, switching Toulon with Paris, and the French troops departure with the German troops arrival. The famous anti-French cliché claims the French people were gathering to welcome the Nazis entering Paris and weeping at them which is not the truth. No parisian crowd welcomed the Nazis entering Paris and this crowd is located in southern France, mothers, fathers and patriots waving at their leaving son or army.
Français : Il existe une controverse autour de cette scène depuis qu'un célèbre cliché pris à 54:50 (utilisé dans Call of Duty 3) a changé son contexte historique, rempaçant Toulon par Paris, et le départ des troupes françaises par l'arrivée des troupes allemandes. Le fameux cliché anti-Français prétend que les Français se sont rassemblés pour venir saluer les Nazis et ont pleuré en les regardant ce qui n'est pas la vérité. Aucune foule parisienne n'a souhaité la bienvenue aux Nazis entrant dans Paris et cette foule est en réalité située dans le sud de la France, des mères, des pères et des patriotes saluant leur fils ou armée qui s'en va.
