English: This time-lapse sequence shows the 2.2-metre MPG/ESO telescope at the La Silla Observatory during a night of observation. Through the opening of the dome the Moon-lit sky is seen early in the sequence and later, after the Moon has set, the spectacular Milky Way appears in a dark sky. The sequence ends with the arrival of dawn.
