Summary

Description
English: In the early part of the twentieth century, many cinema owners made films known as 'local topical' news films, to attract audiences in a period when there was much local competition. In the North West Film Archive, these films feature a huge variety of local events and scenes from around the region and date mainly from the 1910s to 1930s. This particular film is part of a collection of short films made by the Empire Cinema in Milnrow and shows scenes of work inside the Newhey Spinning Mill and Coral Mill, and textile workers in traditional dress leaving the mills.
