At the museum Centre d'Art we continued working on faces and masks. This time Rose Musyoki was giving an online input from her local perspective in Nairobi. There are inner and outer masks, some are visible, some are hidden. The COVID19 pandemic changed the way we are communicating. Rose was taking about how it feels for her having a black skin and how she perceived being hidden. After her talk people continued working on their specific subjects and talking about possibilities in communication processes. Sone drwaings from masks were developed. At a time were the carnival is quite present and political situations seem unstabile a lot of questions raised around the topic. How does the next generation perveive facial expressions? What influence stayed from the pandemic scenario of wearing masks all the time? How do people socialize with all these experiences?
Berlinale: Loreley Film

Loreley Film is a Swiss initiative that is working on rediscovering forgotten European artists of the 20th century from under-represented communities. Another story shall be told and give female artists visibility. At the Berlinale Editathon Swiss, German, Austrian and other European Wikimedians worked together. On Monday Loreley Film was presented at the No Gallery in Charlottenburg. Wikimedia CH sponsored the event. The name Loreley refers to the the Loreley mountain that is the subject in several literature pieces. According to several texts the captains were looking uphill and then the ships have capsized. German poet Heinrich Heine wrote a song on it that can be read here and also heard with the melody of Friedrich Silcher.
