Faces and Masks - the interwoven relation
The summer is devoted to Wikimania projects. The project "Faces and Masks" started in 2025 and has been focussing the Wikimania themes inclusivity, impact, sustainability. It is an art project with an exhibition at the National Gallery Nairobi, National Museums Kenya. Our local partner in Nairobi who attended last year's Wikimania was imnvited to Switzerland one year ago to prepare the exhibition and to give talks on the Kenjan tradition of masks. In 2026 Swiss and Kenyan artists worked together preparing works for the exhibition. The project page describes the concept and provides links to the category on Wiki Commons. The project has been featured in Africa Art news and in the magazin InNairobi. All the exhibitions this year are part of celebrating Wikipedia 25th birthday.
Wikimania Paris
This time Wikimania was around the corner for Switzerland. The theme Freedom, Equity, Reliability relates to our work in Switzerland and in Europe in general. It has been a magic event meeting interesting people and with a wonderful programme. Besides many other interesting topics the GLAM Meetup was a great opportunity to connect with collegues around the world working in GLAM. The toolbox for Indigineaus knowledge helps integrating indiginous knowledge.
