Wikimedian in Residence position
All five candidates have been interviewed for the BHL Wikimedian-in-Residence position and four proposals have been received. These are currently being evaluated with a decision hopefully being made in the near future.
BHL-Wiki working group hypothesis statements for the WMF annual plan
Work continues on the BHL-Wiki working group relevant hypothesis statements for the Wikimedia Foundation Annual Plan. Further discussion continues on both the hypothesis statements themselves as well as how to measure the work undertaken to achieve the aims of the hypotheses statements.
WikiCon North America
Several members of the BHL-Wiki working group will be presenting at the WikiCon North American conference. Of particular relevance to the BHL-Wiki working group is Giovanna Fontenelle’s presentation on How to create Wikimedia Working Groups for GLAMS and Jake Orlowitz's presentation on What Is the Future of the Wikipedian in Residence Position?. Members of the BHL-Wiki working group as well as others interested in these topics are invited to attend this presentation. The conference schedule can be found here.
September outreach
Siobhan Leachman (User:Ambrosia10), Chairperson of the BHL-Wiki working group, reported back on her Wikimedia Aotearoa New Zealand funded attendance of the joint SPNHC TDWG 2024 conference. Her conference report can be found here.
