Wikimedia Commons birthday content donation
On 7 September 2025, the image repository Wikimedia Commons celebrated its 21st anniversary. In those 21 years, more than 126 million files have been added, of which many are used to enrich Wikipedia and on many other places. A large number already, but there are still many subjects without images.
The Maastricht University Library is celebrating this anniversary with a donation of scans of books from the library's Special Collections that are not, or hardly, accessible to the public.
The first series of books that have been digitalised are books from the golden age of illustration which have been illustrated by Edmund Dulac. Books from the golden age of illustration are:

The second series of books from the Special Collections that have been digitalised have been chosen by students during the course Historical Book Review. The chosen books are:
