Below's a quick summary of a proposal to change the Northeast training schedule.

[edit]- State of affairs
- The campus ambassador training program currently runs nation-wide on a two day schedule of whole-day classes.
- Background
- Richard Knipel—regional ambassador to the Northeast—doubles as President of Wikimedia New York City and in this capacity already runs a number of short "Wiki Workshops" (see upcoming), meant to introduce newbies and other assorted outsiders to the projects.
- Proposal
- The Northeast has a number of volunteers and coordinators that could be better served through a periodic schedule of courses which is not currently offered. The region therefore requests to divide classes into perhaps four increments that are each two hours long. With the steam built up from past experience in coordinating short introductory courses, setup and management would be a simple task.
- Rationale
- Those attracted to ambassadorship have expressed interest in shorter, more dispersed class times as they often have other obligations to fulfill on a regular basis; chunking into smaller portions over a longer period may also increase enduring comprehension of the materials taught.
