Exbrook is the corporate nom de plume for David Peters, a Canadian graphic designer who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. I adopted Exbrook after noticing that the phone company had chosen it as the mnemonic for the dial code 39 (as in EXbrook) to Telegraph Hill where I was living at the time.

Via Wikipedia, I have learned that the ancient town of Exmouth [1] in Devon, England, was built on the estuary of the River Exe, suggesting to me that the word Exbrook originates as a tributary of that river. To my surprise, 01-39-5 is the dial code for Exmouth, England. Very logical.
