Project Grants deadline February 20, 2020[edit]

Dear TrudiJ,

I know you have been participating in the Greenhouse Project and developing a project idea.  Earlier this month, Nichole Saad and Melissa Guadalupe Huertas, Education Program staff at the Wikimedia Foundation, sent out an announcement that the Project Grants submission deadline is end of day February 20, 2020. I am following up to remind you that, if  you are thinking about submitting a proposal, you need to submit your application by this Thursday (be sure to change the proposal status from DRAFT to PROPOSED).

More information is available here:

You can contact me at mjohnson ﹫ wikimedia.org if you have any questions.

Warm regards,

Feedback on project from Melissa Guadalupe Huertas in Moodle course[edit]

I'm glad you are experiencing the dynamic nature of building this project proposal and in particular the stakeholder analysis - it's never fully finished! I think your assignment demonstrates a good understanding of the purpose of conducting evaluation activities and you have identified relevant stakeholders as an audience of your evaluation report. There is a good connection between your objectives and the questions and indicators that will signal the success of your project. An area of improvement can be the composition of these statements, think back about the SMART goals! For example: "People who edit in Wikipedia" could be stated as "Participants acquire the skills to continue to edit Wikipedia after the course ended", the evaluation question could then be "Are participants editing Wikipedia after the course was over?". Likewise, "Sense of empowerment editing Wikipedia" could be stated as "Participants express an increased feeling of empowerment to edit Wikipedia after the course ended", then the evaluation question could be "How confident do participants feel editing Wikipedia?". The evaluation questions as they are stated now in your matrix could belong better in the survey you use to collect data.
