A new project is developing in Fremantle: Freopedia, a project to install QRpedia codes around the port city in Western Australia. It is being organised by the Fremantle Society (a local heritage- and community-advocacy group) and Wikimedia Australia members, and has in-principle support so far from the Fremantle Council, Chamber of Commerce, Fremantle History Society, and others. A Wikipedia edit-a-thon is in the works for December, along with possible collaboration with the local history center — which has a large collection of original documents, photographs, and other material that is of great use for Wikimedia-related research. Anyone interested in helping should put their name down on the list at w:Wikipedia:GLAM/Freopedia or contact w:User:Roel loopers.
