The Hablon User Group and UP Internet Freedom Network have conducted Wikipedia Edit-a-thon: Documenting Desaparecidos and Red-tagging against activists in the Philippines last September 26-27, 2020. The event was in collaboration with the Youth Advocate for Peace and Justice (YAPJUST) and was supported by UPLB Mathematical Sciences Society, Anakbayan UP Los Baños and UPLB College of Human Ecology Student Council. The primary objective of the edit-a-thon was to bridge the misinformation and biases with regards historical revisionism in the Philippine islands. The desaparecidos or forced disappearances and red-tagging of activist in the Philippines was the matter of interest in the program. This edit-a-thon also seeks to provide a broader perspective of the past and actual issues in the Philippines especially those that ranges to societal concerns and to provide a well-grounded source and contents that are based on trusted references. This was also held to cater new audiences that are inclined to social concerns and are willing to be editors of Wikipedia. There are three speakers for the first part of the event which was held during September 26, 2020. They tackled the target Wikipedia articles to be edited. Congresswoman Sarah Elago talked about Red-Tagging under the Duterte regime, Desaparecidos Chairperson Linda Cadapan on Introduction about Desaparecidos and Paolo Anico of YAPJUST on Desaparecidos under the Duterte regime. On Day 2, September 27, 2020, Jojit Ballesteros and Bel Ballesteros of the Hablon User Group (HUG) have lectured a number of forty-nine attendees with regards the basics of Wikipedia editing so as to equip the participants with the skills needed during the actual edit-a-thon. A lecture of "Wikipedia and How it Works" was presented and an actual demonstration of editing articles and navigating the Wikipedia interface was also shown.
