[edit]- Claude Monet
- Seems like a good subject to try the idea with. His works are public domain and widely disseminated, and he is popular throughout the world. Kaldari (talk) 23:48, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- Leonardo da Vinci
- World War I anniversary
- More specific example: Air combat in World War I
- Funerary art in the late 19th Century
- i.e. statues in cemeteries from 1850-1900
- I submit that only Wikipedia could do this project well on an international scale!
- I imagine it would be challenging to generate broad interest in this topic. Kaldari (talk) 23:48, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Selecting a theme
[edit]There is a yet no established method to choose a theme, but there are a few good things to keep in mind:
- it should be free in most countries
- it should be something that exists in many countries
- it should be GLAM-related, and the more areas it covers, the better
- ideally interesting in many different cultures (not just European/American)
- broad enough to involve many institutions, but limiting enough to be able to handle it and get your head around.
- ideally cross-disciplines
