I think that the letters shouldn't be too large. Might be hard to read for some people. Diego Grez (talk) 16:36, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Line break or "header"?[edit]

Between the 2nd and 3rd points, there is a line break. It doesn't really look good, IMO. So why not have a "header"? Like Instructions or something similar. Bejinhan (talk) 05:33, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Another suggestion...[edit]

I like the redesigned version, but I was wondering what people would think about having a link to Special:ListUsers on the right-hand box with text along the lines of "Want to check that your name isn't already taken? Look here and then come back to this page to create your user account"

I can imagine that some people will try a variety of names and get a message saying that it is taken, and then give up!

Just an initial thought after looking at the designs here! -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 00:32, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm hoping for an enhancement that will do an AJAX check through the API. Mono (talk) 01:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
what would be nice sometime in the future would be a "search box"-like device where as they type their chosen name letter-by-letter, a list of user names beginning with that text is shown. For example, if I had typed "Phantom", it would show names beginning "Phantom" or "phantom" with an on-screen message basically saying "If you see your chosen name in the drop down list, it is not available" Phantomsteve.alt (talk) 23:14, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I will contact the developers and see if something like that is feasible, but knowing their workload it may not be a high priority. Anyway, let's see, since it would be a good idea.//Hannibal (talk) 19:51, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
