Talk:Education/Newsletter/June 2015/Articles of interest in other publications
Hi Samir, thanks for featuring the MoU between WMIN and SKP group in Wikipedia in Education newsletter. I would like to correct few aspects of the report.
1. This is not a regular Wikipedia editing program. This is a unique program than focuses on engaging Engineering college students in MediaWiki and Indic language computing related technology development work.
2. Please check the press release shown besides this. Lack of quality education is not described as a reason for lack of growth of Indian language Wikipedias. Rather, higher education being predominantly available in English only is one of the reasons.
3. Relatively low penetration of access to internet and computers in comparison to Global North population is one of our general challenges in the country. However, the setting up of language computing lab in the campus is purely based on building a basic and sustaining infrastructure for this program.
- Hi Ravidreams (WMIN). Sorry for any misunderstanding. The pages was edited according to your updates. Please feel free to make any other changes you feel are needed. Thank you, --Selsharbaty (WMF) (talk) 20:24, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
