About me
I am a program evaluator, facilitator, strategist, and learner. I believe that data can be used to shift power dynamics in the world and make it a more equitable place. I joined the Learning and Evaluation team at the Wikimedia Foundation in 2017.
Prior to joining Wikimedia, I was the Program Evaluation Director at an education nonprofit focused on bringing equity and continuous improvement to public schools in the U.S. Before that, I worked as an evaluator at an HIV prevention training center where I provided workshops and technical assistance to the public health workforce on program planning and evaluation. Prior to my work as an evaluator, I designed curricula and taught health education to secondary and university students.
I have extensive experience with evaluation capacity building, equity-focused evaluation, survey design and analysis, qualitative data collection and analysis, data visualization, strategic planning, fostering strategic learning, and facilitation of data-based decision making. I have a BA in Race, Class, and Gender Studies from Occidental College and a Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Health Sciences from the University of Hawai`i at Manoa. I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai`i and have lived in California since 2007.
My work
I support the Community Engagement Department at the Wikimedia Foundation to measure and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of their programs in the Wikimedia Movement. I also facilitate workshops, provide consultation, and design materials that build knowledge, skill, and capacity in program evaluation for community members. Program evaluation offers a systematic way to design effective programs, monitor progress toward goals, and evaluate the changes we bring about in the world.
