Not knowing it was impossible, he went there and did it. — Jean Cocteau
About me
I have been a Wikimedian for over 9 years now, contributing in my volunteer capacity under the username Ederporto. I am mostly active on Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia in Portuguese. I am a mathematician and a software developer, based in São Paulo, Brazil.
My main code language is Python, but I can speak Lua, and have been learning a bit of Javascript too.
My work
I lead and oversee the development of open technologies, coordinate activities and foster Wikimedia innovation. My position is centered on supporting the team and the broad community by ensuring a functional and equitable sociotechnical infrastructure for the collaborative open-knowledge ecosystem. I also focus on identifying opportunities to streamline processes and develop tools that optimize workflows, improving the efficiency of the work we do.
Disclaimer: I work for or provide services to the Wikimedia Brasil chapter, and this is the account I try to use for edits or statements I make in that role. However, the chapter Wikimedia Brasil does not vet all my activity, so edits, statements, or other contributions made by this account may not reflect the views of this Wikimedia affiliate.
