Chief Executive of Wikimedia UK

As the Chief Executive of Wikimedia UK since October 2015, I drive the charity's strategic and organisational development and lead our work in public policy advocacy, stakeholder management and thought leadership. I have worked in the cultural, voluntary and public sectors for over two decades, with past experience including senior roles at Arts Council England, British Refugee Council and the House of Lords. Immediately prior to joining Wikimedia UK I was Director and Chief Executive of the national literature charity Apples and Snakes, England's leading organisation for performance poetry and spoken word.

In July 2025 I was appointed to the Wikimedia Foundation's newly formed Global Resource Distribution Committee, with shared responsibility for the equitable and transparent distribution of around $27 million a year in grant funds, and the creation of a new strategy for resource distribution across Wikipedia's global communities. Other non-executive positions include membership of the British Library Advisory Council, the External Advisory Board for AI for Collective Intelligence (a UKRI National Research Hub) and the Board of Advisors at the Khalili Foundation.
