How to use a sandbox for new articles
If students in the class you're supporting are starting new articles, encourage them to first write their article in their user sandbox named after their topic, such as
User:Stan Lee/Project X,just as they would when expanding an existing article. Then when they are ready to move it to the "Mainspace" on Wikipedia students should go through the AFC process (see Module Four: Developing New Articles).
