Citing your sources

Any editor can remove unreferenced material, and unsubstantiated articles may end up getting deleted. When you add information to an article, you will want to include your reference. Inline citations are the best. They allow other editors and readers to verify the information.

As you do with other research projects, you will want to discuss with your students where to find an acceptable, trustworthy and authoritative source.

The following video shows the basics of how to create a footnote on Wikipedia in order to cite appropriate sources.
