Goals and timeplan for the February–June 2013 term.

Measures of success for Arab region as a whole[edit]

  1. Goal for Arab region as a whole: at least 400 students contribute content to the Arabic Wikipedia. (This means about 40 classes, with 5–15 students from each class contributing to Wikipedia, although this is just an average and in some cases there will be groups of students participating in the project who aren't a formal "class" with direct professor involvement!)
    • Goal for Egypt: at least 300 students contribute content to the Arabic Wikipedia
    • Goal for Jordan:  Faris: please fill in this section!
    • Goal for Algeria:  Faris: please fill in this section!
  2. Each 15 students should have at least 1 Campus Ambassador and 1 Online Ambassador to support them. (The same Ambassador can support multiple sets of 15 students if he or she wants. The Online Ambassadors could be at one central place online supporting all students.)
  3. Each participating student contributes at least 5 printed pages worth of content (or about 15,000 bytes) to the Arabic Wikipedia.
  4. Program participants are satisfied with their experience in the program: (these can be measured from doing surveys or interviews with program participants)
    • More than 50% of the students indicate that they would prefer a Wikipedia assignment to a traditional assignment in the future.
    • More than 50% of the professors indicate that they would assign Wikipedia projects again.
    • More than 75% of the Ambassadors involved in the program indicate that it was worth their time.
  5. Weekly updates are put on the Arabic Wikipedia, tracking the progress of the participating students.
  6. The program follows the timeplan described below.
