English Independent study[edit]

Four advanced learners of English requested a more challenging option to the traditional advanced course. The answer was to allow them to work with Thelmadatter to work on projects related to Wikipedia. These students translated and created articles, including the contacting of subjects to request photos for articles. They also participated in the events below.

Translate-a-thon with Children's Museum of Indianapolis[edit]

Twelve students participated to help the Children's Museum put articles on their collection into Spanish, while they held an edit-a-thon on the same day. The two events were connected through Skype. Coverage in This Month in GLAM

Project Festival Cervantino[edit]

Editing session for the Cervantino project

Edit-a-thon at the campus library to create articles on the participants of the 2011 Festival Cervantino in Mexico. This event was headed by four students who were using Wikipedia for their advanced English credit through independent study with Thelmadatter Coverage in This Month in GLAM
