Wikimedia Taiwan's bold initiative to present challenges can and should inspire others to reflect on issues as many of these are common to those of us who organize and execute education-related projects. One common issue is conflict between student editing and elements of various Wikipedia communities, especially among editors who have a very negative opinion of education projects in general. It is suggested that we as a Wikimedia community form mechanisms for outreach and guidelines for education programs to prevent conflicts and give communities tools to resolve those that do occur, other than newbie biting of students and even banning of professors. read more...

On 17 April 2017, Wikimedia Taiwan invite two scholars from the Center for Aboriginal Studies in National Cheng-chih University to share how to revive indigenous language through incubating its Wikipedia, among all the achievements and challenges. read more...

At the end of 2013, the Seniors Write Wikipedia program started in the Czech Republic. At first we arranged lectures and courses in Prague, but in 2016, we extended the project to 8 other Czech cities. More and more Czech seniors write Wikipedia article and the interest of institutions in the program is ever-increasing. read more...

After 2 years of experience, and participating in 4 WikiCamps - an educational project organized by Wikimedia Armenia and Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to encourage young people aged 14-20 to edit Wikipedia - Assadour Basmajian, a senior high school student and Armenian Wikipedia editor, presented WikiCamps to Armenian Catholic Patriarchate’s Holy Cross Harboyan High School of Lebanon on the 31st of March 2017. The audience consisted of the school’s staff members, including the school’s Armenian language and history teachers, media coordinator (Ms. Lucy Deukmejian), and principal (Mrs. Rita Boyadjian). read more...
