Czech Republic[edit]Students Write Wikipedia program (summary in English) piloted in the winter term 2011/2012 with almost 100 participating students. After promising results from both the winter and summer term (more than 200 participants, three major Czech universities), the program is going to kick off its second year in October 2012. Projects are being prepared. Italy[edit]In Italy Wikimedia Italia has realized various action in secondary schools for the 2011-2012. These initiatives are mainly located in Lombardia, Emilia Romagna and Toscana. In Lomabardia we are working with the local institution for public schools and we have organised a contest named "Autori in Wikipedia" (en., Editors in Wikipedia) where high-schools students can participate creating, translating or improving Wikipedia articles, more info on Italian Wikipedia. In Emilia Romagna, with the partnership of regional Department of tourism we have started the project "Adotta una parola va a scuola" (en., Adopt a word goes to school) where students both from primary and secondary schools choose a Wikipedia article regarding their local area (e.g. a local monument, a church, a park, a typical dish) and adopt the realative article improving and minting it, more info here. In Toscana we have partnered with the "Isituto degli Innocenti" and we are intervening in various schools with lectures (2 hours long) about Wikipedia. We also have a dedicated mailing list scuolawikimedia.it and you can subscribe here if interested. Mexico[edit]Programs involving student editing are in place at ITESM-Campus Ciudad de México and National Autonomous University of Mexico. Both campuses have student clubs and various programs for students to edit for credit. These include class assignments and social/community service credit for International Baccalaureate and undergraduate university students. Projects include article creation and translation (mostly English to Spanish) as well as organized events such as working with the Children's Museum of Indianapolis and articles related to the Festival Internacional Cervantino. Five professors have joined the program and there are five courses in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro universities participating of this pilot. Egypt[edit]A pilot at two universities in Cairo will introduce students to Wikipedia editing. Germany[edit]Inspired by the Wikipedia Education Program, the "Education + Knowledge" department of Wikimedia Deutschland is running a small pilot of five classes. These take place in various universities throughout the summer 2012 term as part of the broad efforts of "Education + Knowledge" on increasing participation in Wikimedia projects. India[edit]The Pune Pilot wrapped up in late 2011, and program leaders are evaluating program changes to make before launching a new pilot. United Kingdom[edit]The national chapter, Wikimedia UK, has been building contacts across the Higher Education sector and is looking to support university educational assignments. Contact martin.poulterwikimedia.org.uk for details. We have run a successful EduWiki conference in September 2012. Greece[edit]Greek Wikipedians have started putting together projects which have run during 2010-2012 by active wikipedians (either in Βικιπαίδεια-Wikipedia in Greek or in Βικιβιβλία-Wikibooks in Greek). These projects have run by wikipedians who are teachers of secondary education / university professors / other active wikipedians which have served as catalysts for such programs and have acted individually with minimum support. The scope is to create a community of active supporters of Education Projects in Wikipedia, as well as to develop step-by-step instructions which will assist newcomers to catch up quicker and to provide them with support.
