Manual invitation[edit]

Great writeup!

The resident chose to do this manually themselves, using resources such as past meet-up event pages, regional invite lists, and regional and chapter mailing lists. Over 200 Wikipedians were invited, which took about 4 hours to complete. Within one week all 10 slots were filled.

There really is no substitute for the personal invite, is there? When inviting the 200 people, did the resident create a spreadsheet or a list like that, something that future DC organizers could use? Best, Sumanah (curiously & taking notes)

  • Hi Sumanah! I'm a big fan of personal invites :) I did not create a spreadsheet - that would have been a great idea; but when I think about it, the data could change also. I did link to the data in the documentation, but again, no special spreadsheet. Missvain (talk) 03:36, 29 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
