Full list of Wiki GLAM
[edit]I am drafting the structure because I need a list of all Wiki GLAM projects. Please add the proper information and correct mistakes. In particular it is not obvious to get the names of people involved. --Iopensa (talk) 13:08, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Iolanda, this is great, but somehow I hadn't found it till just now - silly me! I've been working on a related set of documentation off the back of discussions at Wikimania but I've been limited to English Wikipedia for now. The pilot pages use my Yorkshire museums but hopefully will expand well. What do you think: Wikipedia:GLAM/Directory? My plan to provide a more streamlined and comprehensible way to document GLAMwiki projects and make them accessible to Wikipedians and curators seems to overlap with yours! I hope we can work together. Cheers, PatHadley (talk) 12:17, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi PatHadley, fantastic you are working on the documentation. I think it is important to acknowledge what is going on around the entire globe and of course the work starts back in each region and country. the repository I have been started is difficult to browse but i wanted to try to provide (myself and others) an idea of dates, people involved, countries which are active, and where they can find further documentation. My experience is that the UK are actually some of the best documented experiences, but there is more around (on wikipedia in different languages and on Wikimedia commons). More than pleased to join you in your work. Please add things here also or we can change the system if you have proposals. for me it is not a problem at all. --Iopensa (talk) 13:10, 16 January 2015 (UTC)
- Excellent! I'm going to have a play with the templates. I think if we're super clever, we can get the directory pages to automatically generate the list of projects. So, if we add a Directory Page for 'Library of X-town', we can just use a one line version on the GLAM repository page, something like this: {{GLAM Repository|Library of X-town}} I just need to get my head around the template syntax!
