Academia and Wikipedia: the first Irish conference on Wikipedia in education
Academia and Wikipedia: Critical Perspectives in Education and Research was the first conference convened in Ireland solely focused on the role of Wikipedia in education. A day-long event, it took place on 18 June 2018 in Maynooth University, with a full day of papers from both Irish and international (from Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America) researchers and teaching professionals. read more...

Ashesi Wiki Club: Charting the cause for Wikipedia Education Program in West Africa
The WEP at Ashesi University was a novelty on the West African sub-region. This fully fledged WEP included a campus based Wiki Club. Wikimedia Serbia has received a new accreditation for the Accredited seminars for teachers
Wikimedia Serbia has received a new accreditation for the seminar Usage of wiki tools for teaching and learning for the next three school years. Accreditation is issued by the Institute for the Improvement of Education, which represents the official body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia established for the purpose of monitoring, securing and improving the quality and development of the education system.read more...


Côte d'Ivoire: Wikipedia Classes 2018 are officially up and running
After a pilot phase, from November 2016 to July 2017, WikiEducation started again in Côte d'Ivoire few months ago, leveraging lessons learned from the previous edition. Things started slowly in February but, since June, the education program has been up and running in 3 Universities. read more...


Basque secondary students have now better coverage for main topics thanks to the Education Program
Basque Wikimedians User Group Education Program has two different goals: on the one hand, we want to involve as much students as possible in article creation; on the other hand, we want to improve basic topics for secondary school students, based on their official curriculum. 1.710 articles has been identified in this project, and the growth in this first year is obvious, thanks to students and wikimedians. read more...

Basque Wikimedians User Group Education Program has made it’s first year and we have asked lecturers and professors what they think about the program, what they would improve and how the evaluate their student’s work and our job. Most of them would like to repeat next year, and they are quite happy with the idea, despite sensation of low level contribution by their students. read more...
