Winners of DARM Challenge 2 and Karpoš Municipality meeting

DARM Challenge 2

The challenge run one month: from 00:01 (CET UTC+01:00) December 25, 2016 until 23:59 (CET UTC+01:00) January 25, 2017. Wikipedian in Residence at DARM (National Archive of the Republic of Macedonia) was active during the year 2016. In the collaboration with the State Archive we have 2,190 files uploaded. The aim of this challenge was to use these files in articles in any language. The winners (first five contributors with most points) are:

Lackope - 1200 points
SirGoldenBlade - 1125 points
Millars - 633 points
Ранко Николић - 555 points
Andrew J.Kurbiko - 372 points.

The five winners will get prizes: set of books, 20 euros each, with total amount of 100 Euros.

Statistic results (some according to GLAMorgan tool):

16 participants
from 8 different language wikis
more than 50 new articles created at the time of DARM Challenge 2
35.55% of all images of category
1,392 pages on 33 wikis use those files.

We noticed that there were editors who used the files in their home wiki articles, but they didn't sign themselves as participants. This is something we count as a success.

Karpoš Municipality meeting

On 27 January 2017, 7 students who participated in the last year edit-a-thon with the theme: Karpoš Municipality, were guests on meeting with officials from the Karpoš Municipality, altogether with the President of UG GLAM Macedonia and coordinator for education program at GLAM Macedonia. The officials said many thanks to our members who improved the article about the Municipality. The meeting was productive, because the officials agreed to help more about sources and texts, so in the future edit-a-thons we will be able to create, edit and improve other articles connected to Karpoš Municipality (about schools in this Municipality, about settlements, etc.)
