Museums writing challenge and Viquimarató Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas
ByMuseums writing challenge
For the second consecutive year, during June Wikimedia España organised a writing challenge to edit articles about museums with the aim of increasing the existing content on Wikipedia about these institutions that work for the conservation and dissemination of heritage. We accepted articles on museums from any part of the world and in any language, and for those who had problems choosing what to edit, we offered suggestions of existing articles in other wikipedias, such as English, French, Italian, Catalan and Galician. Also, in order to be considered valid, they had to meet a series of requirements, such as a minimum size, a minimum number of words or not being mere lists. A total of 21 people participated and 267 articles were edited, of which 258 were in Spanish, 3 in English, 5 in Catalan and 1 in German.
Viquimarató Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas
On 5 June, an editathon on the figure of Carmelina Sánchez-Cutillas took place at the Benicalap library (Valencia), as part of the commemoration of the appointment of the writer as Writer of the Year by the Valencian Academy of Language.
