BHL-Wiki Working Group March monthly highlights
ByUpdating Wiki and BHL communities on the working group
The chair of the working group Ambrosia10 has submitted an abstract to the Wikimania 2024 organising committee proposing to update the Wiki community on the BHL-Wiki working group. She will also be delivering the BHL-Wiki report at the BHL Annual Meeting in Chicago in May as well as a presentation at the BHL public symposium.
BHL-Wiki Working Group and the Wikimedia Foundation
Wikimedia Foundation staff members of the BHL-Wiki working group intend to recommend supporting biodiversity work (which includes the BHL-Wiki group and the WikiProject Biodiversity) around themes of closing knowledge gaps, images for underrepresented geographies, and expansion of topical communities and networks during WMF Annual Planning discussions.
Work items of note
- Giovanna Fontenelle continues to make progress developing the BHL-Wiki Meta portal.
- The Wikimedian-in-Residence Schedule of Work has been finalized; solicitations will begin in United States Summer of 2024.
- The BHL-TECH team will schedule Wikidata Q item updates in the BHL catalog for BHL Creator IDs and BHL Title IDs quarterly.
- The agenda has been set for Part II: Transforming Biodiversity Heritage Library Images with Structured Data on Commons. All are welcome to come.
