GLAMers opened their doors to Wikimedia Serbia

Historical Archives of Belgrade released 30 photos under Creative Commons licences, representing the history of the capital of Serbia. Among the photos there are those from the 16th century, as well as maps, drawings, records from the registers, photographs of notable people, such as President of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito with other officials or Danica Tomić, the first woman pilot. Release of these photos had a positive impact in the Serbian Wiki community, and 12 articles on Wikipedia were illustrated with these photos.
Theatre "Boško Buha"
Theatre "Boško Buha" has released 23 files under Creative Commons licence. The 100th anniversary of performance of their popular play "Mrs. Minister" was chosen as start of cooperation. On this occasion volunteers of Wikimedia Serbia visited the show, and then, with the sources that was provided by the theatre, wrote an article on Serbian Wikipedia.
Edit-a-thon - World Mime Day
Wikimedia Serbia, in cooperation with the World Mime Organization, organized an edit-a-thon on March 22nd, the International Mime Day. Biographies of famous mime actors, acting and pantomime techniques, mime organizations, performances and artists were given their place on Serbian Wikipedia thanks to the volunteers who have written 15 new and improved two articles. Some of the articles are illustrated with 14 photos released by the World Mime Organisation. The global community was invited to join the event (via "Wikimedia-L" list and Meta page), and support came from Macedonia, where Wikipedians wrote nine new articles. Special guest of the edi-a-thon was the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Serbia Irena Vojackova Solorano, which has welcomed this action, particularly by supporting volunteerism. This event was particulary interesting to media in Serbia, which has resulted in 42 media reports.
Wiki librarian workshop and lecture
On 4th and 5th of March, librarians from the University Library Svetozar Marković, realized a workshop at the Public Library Bora Stankovic in Vranje. Facilitators were coordinators of annual project Wiki librarian, part of Wikimedia Serbia GLAM program. During the workshop, 18 librarians wrote 9 new and improved 8 articles on Serbian Wikipedia and hosting library Bora Stankovic released three photos under Creative Commons licences.
In addition, within the Open Education Week, the leader of this project Aleksandra Popović, presented the Wiki-librarian with the lecture Wikipedia - the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit: Project Wiki librarian.
