Libraries gave us power
BySLIC residency phase 1
The Scottish Library & Information Council residency took a big step forward in November with our three phase one public library service partners undergoing their Introduction to Wikipedia/media training. Inverclyde, North Lanarkshire and North Ayrshire public library services will now move toward hosting their own first editathon in their service some time in early 2018, and will be working with the resident to audit their collections with a view to a content upload, also in 2018. Phase two, with training and activity being rolled out to other public library services in Scotland, will commence in early 2018.
Resident Sara Thomas spoke at Archaeology Scotland / Historic Environment Scotland's Community Heritage Conference, SLIC / ScotGov's Digital & Information Literacy Forum, and assisted with the University of Edinburgh's LitLong Editathon.
Out of This World
The making of the first content specifically for Wikimedia projects in space was organised from Birmingham, England by UK Wikimedian Andy Mabbett.
