Khalili Collections
A Composite Imaginary Landscape of Japan, a textile artwork image which was already a Featured Picture on Commons, was accepted as a Featured Picture on English Wikipedia and will be queued up for a future Featured Picture of the Day. Khalili Collection of Swedish Textiles had a Did You Know on the front page of English Wikipedia on 31 August and I'm very grateful to the volunteer who created a Persian translation of the article. So far eight new articles have been created by the WIR, two by volunteers, with three more articles in draft.
Three new images were uploaded, of objects from the Khalili Collection of Spanish Damascened Metalwork, bringing the total of Khalili images to 88.
The next steps on the project are to finish a draft about the Khalili Collection of Enamels of the World, to submit this and other remaining drafts to become articles in mainspace, using the text to improve other articles, and then to begin work on the collection relating to Hajj (pilgrimage). A bulk upload of images relating to the Hajj is in preparation.
