Note of Thanks[edit]

Hi there, to the team developing the GLAM newsletter! I enjoyed the newsletter that was released yesterday. It's interesting and impressive to see the work in the GLAM sector all in one place. Congrats to all those working on the newsletter and those implementing the GLAM work itself! I enjoyed following this month's progress. KLove (WMF) (talk) 18:11, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Visual editor - can we enable it please?[edit]

I am using the Visual Editor for most of my work apart from inserting output of tools that use wikitext and the occasion template-fixing situation. It's now mighty hard to go back and try to use the source editor. Can we enable the VE here please? Thanks Kerry Raymond (talk) 00:49, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Kerry Raymond: You can enable the VisualEditor in your preferences. When you have done that, go to the Newsroom, create the page for your area with the button (and save the page), and then edit the page in the VisualEditor so you are sure using the right templates. Links to categories of mass uploads[edit]

Hi :) A discussion on cultural-partners@ made me realized that TMIG is the best ressource for finding a list of mass uploads, since Commons:Commons:Batch_uploading, Commons:Commons:GWToolset_users and GLAM/Case_studies are not up-to-date. Thus, I think it would be nice to include in the report form a box with the links to the Commons categories of the mass upload done during the month, so the information is more easily available. Threw clever templates, we might even be able to generate a whole list automatically :) Is it OK with everyone ? Léna (talk) 09:21, 7 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

wikipedia person articles and Heritage[edit]

Need a more common -sense approach to including info on ones heritage, nationality, etc at wikipedia. Flemish-derived names often differ from Dutch, and as such are an identifier (X or CK are not used in Dutch naming, genirally), for example. Common-sense rules should be applied.126.161.138.126 00:44, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

commons update[edit]

I think we need a Commons update, a possible section for the 7th. There is a discussion going on on the Commons village pump re the ethics of hosting photographs of people held in slavery. commons:Commons:Village_pump#Agassiz_Zealy_slave_portraits GLAM input requested. Estonia[edit]

With this "previous editions" it links to the general category, but Estonia has its own category and link should go there instead. Where can it be changed? Kruusamägi (talk) 19:36, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Romaine: can you help? Kruusamägi (talk) 03:46, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kruusamägi, Sorry for the delay, it was a crazy Summer. Thanks for reaching out! I fixed the link so it now links to the right category. Greetings - Romaine (talk) 05:01, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

100% width[edit]

Please can the 100% width setting on the newsletter be removed or adjusted so that it doesn't cause massive whitespace issues on talk pages with items floated left or right. There isn't an obvious need for it. Thryduulf (talk) 16:08, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Croatia[edit]

I inserted Croatia as this report is now second, so soon to qualify for its own category ;-) --Zblace (talk) 07:42, 7 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
