Add topicHello Haytham abulela, and welcome to the Outreach Wiki! Our mission is to recruit and support new Wikimedians and to build strong relationships with cultural and educational institutions. Want to help? Here's some stuff you can do:
- Volunteer to join the outreach team so we know that we're allowed to ask you for help ;-)
- Indicate your languages and skills on your user page so we know how you can best help!
- Review the bookshelf materials, help with localization and add your feedback
- Learn about our work with cultural institutions and join ongoing conversations
- Join the Account Creation Improvement Project, aiming to increase editing by new users
- Start a student club at your university
See the sidebar for some other projects you can get involved in.
The Village pump is a great place to ask questions, but don't hesitate to leave me a note if I can help. Thanks for stopping by – hope you like the place and decide to stay!

Very cool
[edit]Hello,
Very cool that you did an Arabic version of the Introduction to Free Licences - and that you added it in all the right places. Good work!//Hannibal (talk) 21:55, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Hi Haythem,
I was wondering if you might be interested in helping to translate more of the Bookshelf Projects into Arabic. Were you the person who translated the other documents? http://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/Bookshelf/ Also, have you heard of Universal Subtitles (http://www.universalsubtitles.org/en/) ? It would be great if someone who knew Arabic could translate some of these videos into the local language. Might you or someone you know be interested in doing this? I work with Wikimedia and I hope to connect with people who might be able to help with Arabic translation for localization efforts. Thanks! Sarakyap (talk) 19:09, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Source Text
[edit]Hi Haytham,
I was wondering if you had the source text for this context. We are try to translate some other content and I was wondering if you had these files off hand. Thanks! syap@wikimedia.org

Wikimedia LGBT
[edit]I am reaching out to people who have translated pages here at Wikimedia Outreach to assist with translating pages at Wikimedia LGBT. If you are willing and able, any assistance would be appreciated. If not, I understand. Thanks for your consideration. --Another Believer (talk) 22:43, 4 November 2013 (UTC)
Scribus files
[edit]Hi Haytham, Thanks for your note, and for all your hard work translating the brochures! I'm sorry to hear that Scribus doesn't work well with RTL. :( Do you have access to Adobe InDesign? The files are also available in that, and I know InDesign works well with Arabic, as the brochures we've done in Arabic were all done in InDesign. -- LiAnna Davis (WMF) (talk) 18:07, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
- Try opening the IDML version instead -- that should work with older versions of InDesign, so it might work with your software? -- LiAnna Davis (WMF) (talk) 02:58, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
Admin review
[edit]As you may have seen, I have contacted many admins who have been inactive. I am also messaging other admins who technically are not inactive but who have very few actions in the past year—some of whom have never used any admin tools here. I would like to know if you are interested in having these rights still. Please respond here with {{Ping}} to let me know. Thank you. Koavf (talk) 22:22, 13 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Koavf: I think that administrator rights were given to me so I can upload files and avoid IP blocking since my internet provider at that time used variable IP addresses. I have not been active on Outreach for a long time, since I have been more involved in translations on Meta. If IP block exemption and file uploading can be achieved without administrator rights, you may proceed with cancelling my adminship status. HaythamAbulela 18:47, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
