--Sannita (talk) 21:58, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"please feel free to add additional material below or on the talk page"[edit]

I don't know if you noticed, but Sue Gardner said, "please feel free to add additional material below or on the talk page". Why, then, did you proceed to delete the additional material that I added? You also didn't notify me or ask anyone else if your removal was appropriate. I have received notifications from two different Wikimedians who "thanked you (me) for your edit on Talk:Wikipedian in Residence/Harvard University assessment". I believe that what you did was rude, and it would be more kind for you to restore my content that you removed, and then open a Talk page discussion about its removal, if you feel it is that important to suppress. -- Thekohser (talk) 17:39, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sì, voglio continuare a essere iscritta alla lista. --Virginia Gentilini (talk) 13:40, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus?[edit]

Hi! I am very confused by this edit. There was no conversation undo the overhaul of the case studies page -- and the time not substantive objections or "consensus" to approach it differently. I have had many, many, many conversations with GLAM leaders both at Wikimania and in other settings, where the found the updated page useful. Can you please explain the edit? Hi, I'm not expressing an opinion on the new thing you made but from GLAM/Discussion#Replacing_the_Case_Studies_and_Model_Projects_Pages it's clear that people see a value in keeping the page. Nemo 11:39, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Import request[edit]

Main discussion at Talk:Wikipedian_in_Residence

I'm in the process of writing some templates to be able to make the Wikipedian_in_Residence table easier to maintain using wikidata.

In order to implement w:Template:WiR_table_row here, could I request the import of:

  1. w:module:WikidataIB/sandbox to module:WikidataIB
  2. w:Template:WiR_table_row to Template:WiR_table_row
  3. w:Template:WiR_table_start to Template:WiR_table_start

How we will see unregistered users[edit]

Hi!

You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.

When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.

Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.

If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.

We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

It seems you haven't been active in a while. I will be de-admin-ing those who don't respond in one week. Do you have any interest in advanced user rights on this wiki? If so, please respond so here and ping me. Thanks. Koavf (talk) 04:15, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Koavf for the notice. Honestly I had forgotten this policy. I don't contribute to this wiki much any more, clearly, probably because I've not had time to work on GLAM projects recently. However I still follow the GLAM newsletter and other updates here somewhat regularly, and it's nice to know I can fix things when needed.
I'm open to suggestions on how to help. We have few edits locally, local uploads are disabled, most vandalism is handled by the global abuse filters and global blocks... Nemo 07:21, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fine with you having the user rights: you're a globally trusted user, so if you say you need them, that's good enough for me. Koavf (talk) 07:57, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again for taking care of this. Nemo 18:47, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
