GLAM digital with the Research Services of the German Bundestag and the Commission for the History of Parliamentarism and Political Parties - "Wiki Loves Democracy Part I"
ByWiki Loves Democracy I - A virtual exchange on the history of parliamentarianism and democracy in Germany
One of the strengths of de.wikipedia is that articles on parliamentarianism, the German Bundestag and the concept of democracy are well developed thanks to all the authors. At the same time, we all realise that Wikipedia will never be complete. This GLAM digital event in April 2024 offered us the opportunity to discuss about parliament, the heart of our democracy, in more detail during a virtual exchange with Hilmar Sack, Head of the History, Politics and Culture Division of the Research Services of the German Bundestag, and Tobias Kaiser from the Commission for the History of Parliamentarism and Political Parties.
The event also provided an opportunity to get some ideas for the content and editing of Wikipedia articles on specific topics. We were also able to discuss further collaboration in a discussion. We were also able to take a look at the planned celebrations to mark 75 years of the Bundestag.
