Wikigap 2020 in Albania
Wikimedians of Albanian Language User Group has been collaborating with the Swedish Embassy in Tirana since 2018. Over the years, the focus has been on writing articles about women around the world.
This year the focus was on Swedish and Albanian Women, specifically sportiest and ambassadors. The event was held as every year on International Women's Day on March 8th. Participants in Edit-a-thon were about 12 Albanian women of different ages who contributed to the writing of articles for Swedish and Albanian women. During the event 9 new articles were written, 20 other articles were improved within 2 hours. They wrote about a person they liked or for whom there was no real article in the Albanian language. As a participant but also as a speaker was the ambasador of Sweden in Tirana, Mrs Elsa Hastand. The purpose of this edit-a-thon was to increase the awareness of the gender gap on Wikipedia.
