International Museum Day and FESABID19
ByFESABID19
On May 16 and 17 took place in Barcelona FESABID19, the 16th Spanish Conference of Information and Documentation. During them, in collaboration with Amical Wikimedia, a session was given under the title "Objectives of Sustainable Development and Libraries - open knowledge and Wikimedia projects". The session included several presentations and a workshop with Alicia Sellés, from FESABID, Carme Fenoll, from UPC, Amparo Pons, from the Museu Valencià d'Etnologia, Jesús Tramullas, from Wikimedia España, and Toni Hermoso and Vicenç Allué from Amical Wikimedia.
Archaeological museums Editathon
In 2017, on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid published a special edition of its bulletin, which included a review of the history of each museum and archaeological collection in Spain. For that reason, we talked to the museum about the organization of an editathon focused on the archaeological museums, many of which have not yet had an article in Wikipedia. The date chosen was the International Museum Day, on May 18. We created a Wikipedia page with information about the event and the list of articles, as well as statistics on the results achieved. Eight people participated and 26 articles were edited, most of them new.
