ByEdit-a-thon Collaboration between Wikimedians of Albanian Language and the City Museum of Mitrovica
We are thrilled to share the successful outcome of the recent edit-a-thon organized in collaboration between the Wikimedians of Albanian and the City Museum of Mitrovica. This event brought together passionate participants to create and improve articles on Albanian Wikipedia, focusing on the history, culture, and art of Mitrovica.
Held on September 25th at the City Museum of Mitrovica, the edit-a-thon aimed to enrich the Albanian Wikipedia with comprehensive and informative content about this historically significant city. Participants worked diligently to research and write about Mitrovica’s cultural heritage, museums, local artists, and significant events that have shaped the city.
This initiative not only helped to fill gaps in Albanian-language content but also empowered participants with new skills in Wikipedia editing and research. The collaborative effort is a testament to the importance of preserving local heritage in the digital space, making knowledge about Mitrovica’s cultural and historical significance accessible to all.
Here are some of the articles that were worked on during the event: Arsimi në Mitrovicë, Stacioni hekurudhor i Mitrovicës, Miniera e Trepçës, and Muzeu i Kristaleve të Trepçës
A heartfelt thank you to all who contributed to this enriching experience. Your efforts have made a lasting impact on preserving and promoting Mitrovica's rich history and culture for future generations to discover and learn from.
We encourage you to explore these articles and deepen your understanding of the beautiful and culturally rich city of Mitrovica!
