Wikipedia Penang Meetup 2 @ Tuanku Fauziah Museum and Gallery, University of Science Malaysia
On 9 October 2019, the Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia held a Wikipedia meetup for the 5th time with GLAM institution and the first with museum and gallery under the Wikipedia Penang Meetup 2 official name at Tuanku Fauziah Museum and Gallery in University of Science Malaysia, located in the state of Penang.
User Tofeiku had a meeting with the museum director and officer to introduce Wikipedia to them. Overview of GLAM movement in other countries were also presented to them for discussion for them to have idea on what kind of offline activities can be made from this and what benefits the museum can gain. The museum agreed to present and share information and pictures to the user group and the museum gave the user group a spot for the year end event held by the museum, most probably in December 2019.
Other topics of the discussion were the latest development of Malay-language Wikipedia (ms.wikipedia) and the plan to create a Wikipedia article about the museum and gallery itself.
