This page contains the implementation plans for the different phases of the project; further details are being added as the project progresses.

A tentative timeline for the entire project can be found on the concept page.

Phase One: January - March 2014[edit]

Status update of tasks as of 3 April 2014

WP 1: Project Management[edit]

Lead: Beat Estermann

Goals:

  • Plan the project activities: overall concept; phase 1 and phase 2 activities (done)
  • Set up an international core team: clarify roles and expectations, clarify the way the team will collaborate and interact with local teams (done)
  • Set up the communication infrastructure: mailing list, coordination portal on the Outreach Wiki (done)
  • Enrol local teams, identify national coordinators (initiated; needs particular attention in phase 2)
  • Further elaborate the concept of the project: FAQ, possibly elaborate the concept in view of funding requests (done; Risk Management Plan needs further attention in phase 2)

WP 2: Questionnaire Development[edit]

Lead: Beat Estermann

Team: Beat Estermann, Dorota Kawęcka, Sanna Marttila, Merete Sanderhoff, Maria de Vallibana, Gemma Echevarria

Goal:

  • Develop an improved version of the questionnaire: one review round before the pretest; one after the pretest, based on pretest results and further feedback (produced a draft version of the questionnaire and carried out one review round; questionnaire development and the pretest need to be focused on in phase 2)

WP3: Pretest[edit]

Lead: Joris Pekel

Team: Dutch team, Merete Sanderhoff (for testing in Denmark), Finnish team (translation processes)

Goals:

  • Select the survey tool (done)
  • Collect GLAM e-mail addresses from the Netherlands (and possibly from an anglophone country) (initiated)
  • Set-up the English version of the questionnaire in the survey tool, debugging (delayed, questionnaire not ready in phase 1)
  • Carry out the pretest (delayed, questionnaire not ready in phase 1)

WP4: Partnerships / Funding Requests[edit]

Lead: Lieke Ploeger (partnerships); vacant (funding requests)

Team:

Goals:

  • Conclude partnerships with organizations/project consortia that have an international focus (initiated; formalizing partnerships needs to be focused on in phase 2)
  • Apply for funding to cover a part of the project cost (done, needs further attention)

Local Teams[edit]

Goals:

  • Constitute the national teams: role clarification, designation of a country coordinator (done in 5 countries)
  • Initiate partnerships at a national level (with umbrella organisations, research institutions, etc.) (initiated in some countries)
  • Apply for funding if necessary (done in 2 countries)
  • Collect the e-mail addresses of the GLAMs to be surveyed (initiated in a couple of countries)
  • Research particularities of your country and contribute to the development of the questionnaire (so far, people from 5 countries contributed to the development of the questionnaire)

Phase Two: April - June 2014[edit]

WP 1: Project Management[edit]

Goals:

  • Enrol more local teams, identify national coordinators (added several more participating countries; in many cases, national coordinators still need to be designated)
  • Make a task/resource plan for centrally managed project activities (postponed until the end of the pretest)
  • Establish a Risk Management Plan (done)
  • Set up an Advisory Board (pending; needs further clarification)

WP 2: Research[edit]

WP 2.1: Questionnaire Development[edit]

Goals:

  • Finalize Draft 2 of the questionnaire based on feedback received (done)
  • Verify Draft 2 of the questionnaire after it has been set up in the survey tool (done)
  • Carry out the pretest in the Netherlands and 1-2 further countries (ongoing)
  • Finalize the questionnaire based on pretest results (postponed, waiting for the pretest to be carried out in NL and PL)
  • Define the processes regarding the translation of the questionnaire (quality management!) (ongoing)

WP 2.2: Research Methodology[edit]

Goals:

  • Clarify the methodological issues surrounding data collection and the establishment of contact lists (done; communication with the national teams needs further attention)
  • Draft an analysis plan for data analysis (done)

WP 3: Technical Support[edit]

Lead: Joris Pekel

Team: Dutch team, Finnish team (translation processes)

WP 3.1: Pretest[edit]

Goals:

  • Implementation of Draft 2 of the questionnaire in the survey tool (done)
  • Assist the research team with the pretest (ongoing)
  • Select and set up the tool(s) to be used for the translation of the questionnaire (done)
