Hey J
What part of the world are you from? Help with getting Canada universities more involved with Wikimedia projects would be much appreciated. I am currently in discussions with UBC where I sit on the faculty. A push from students is now what I need :-) --Jmh649 (talk) 00:07, 22 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hi! I'm at the WMF offices in San Francisco and am supporting efforts to start student clubs around the world! The goal is to mobilize and empower the next generation of human knowledge generators and stewards to contribute to Wikimedia projects. Creating a viral, international network of students who can support each other in contributing to Wikimedia projects would be a tremendous step forward in helping integrate the world of academia with the concepts of collaboration and open access to knowledge. *SO* - I would be happy to help you with student recruitment ideas! We're attempting to schedule the next meeting, and we'd like to get your input on days and times that you'd be available. If you're interested in joining us, please fill out this Doodle. The March Wikipedia Education Program Metrics and Activities Meeting will be on 21 March 2012 at 20:00 UTC. We will have updates from countries around the world and Ayush Khanna will present some results of data analysis he's done on students' contributions. Instructions for joining are on the page linked above. I hope you can join us on Wednesday! -- LiAnna Davis (WMF) (talk)
I also need a volunteer to lead the meeting! Will you help? Leave a message. It requires no advanced preparation, just the ability to welcome everyone and move us through the agenda. -- LiAnna Davis (WMF) (talk)

Per Wikimedia:Inactivity policy, your account is due for having advanced user rights removed. If you would like to retain these user rights, please post a message on this talk page and use {{Ping}} to alert me. Note that this message is being sent to several users who are in the same situation and many have never used administrator tools. In the past, community standards were more lax about who received adminship or bureaucratship and between this policy and a further solicitation of consensus, we are reigning in some of the requirements for advanced user rights. You will also be receiving an email from me if you have it enabled. Koavf (talk) 21:28, 13 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
